Lead Based Paint
This is an educational brochure regarding lead based paint and can be helpful if you are thinking of remodeling a home built prior to 1978.
Although it is rare that you will find homes that have lead based paint, older homes may have been painted with lead based paint. Lead paint an be a serious health problem, especially in children. For this reason in Arizona, real estate agents will have both buyer and seller understand what it means when buying a home with lead based paint or with the potential to have lead based paint. Any home built in 1978 or prior will have a LBPD2 – Lead-Based Hazards Disclosure (Sales) – 0109 that will need to be filled out by the seller and autographed by all parties. This is the only form in Arizona Real Estate that cannot be signed in counterpart.
