Gilbert Basement Homes and Gilbert Horse Property
Gilbert basement homes oftentime are located on horse property. This provides the ability to make the most use of your land. Gilbert horse property owners have more room to work with their horses. This home shown above is a home we sold that had a full basement and the family that owned it often had family parties in the basement since it opened out to the pool area and provided easy access to the back yard.
Gilbert Basement Homes and Gated Entry
Gilbert basement homes are often located in upscale neighborhoods such as Jakes Ranch. These neighborhoods allow for less land space than a Gilbert horse property would and yet, the gated entry and feel of the neighborhood offers luxury that a horse property typically doesn’t. If you would like to search all of Gilbert Subdivisions you might find a home in a specific area that you want and then break it down to the type of home you want.
Scarcity of Basement Homes in Gilbert
The reason there are not many Gilbert basement homes is the fact that they are more expensive to build. In Arizona where slab construction is the common way to build, it takes longer to build a basement home and with no frost line, a builder only has to dig the footings to 18″ in Arizona. Where back east and in the Midwest the frost line is several feet and must be dug anyway, it simply makes sense to add a basement at that point. In Arizona, it doesn’t. Also, appraisers would give less value to a basement homes in years past. They used to count the space as storage and didn’t recognize the value of a finished basement the way they would on a two story home with the second story finished.
